i am recovering from my 2nd urnine infection (1st one at 24 weeks) so i know how you are feeling. i was in agony and could barely sleep at night cos of the pain to my left side.
i was told by my doctor and midwife if they are left untreated they can cause premature labour & i read this on the net too. i don't understand why you are being treated so badly. i hope this gets sorted out for you soon.
just try and keep trying to drink plenty of water and as someone else said don't wee too much.
i hope you feel better soon.
Christine

I'm Currently Feeling: | Yes, drink lots of cranberry juice. I had one about a month and a half ago, she told me to drink loads of cranberry juice and if it didn't start to ease up in a week then she'd write me a prescription! So drink up! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Thats it!! Ive had enough!!!....i got through the doctors again and they wont even put me through to teh doctor....its really hurting now and cramping even when im not going wee and it really hurts when i walk so im going to go along to A&E from work. Ive had enough...ive been in pain with it for far too long...how can you have a urine infection for nearly a month and no-one is doing anything about it?! And whilst i am there im gonna ask them to at least check the baby's heartbeat as i havent even heard that since i havent had a 16 week midwife appt and how do i know that this infection isnt causing something to the baby!?? I havent put on any weight at all, the doctor said im small for 18 weeks and im in pain so something cant be right!!
At least if i dont get anywhere there, they can at least check the baby for me and put my mind at rest! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | The hospital should have a pee strip to test your urine levels.
However, your doctor prescribing you 2 anti-biotics and testing you after doesnt sound like nothing to me... Im sorry for you because I know how much pain your going through. Many of us are going through similiar pains.
Taking too many drugs during pregnancy can be harmful to your baby too.
Good luck!! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Exactly and the weird thing is thats last week the doctor had done a dipstick test and then gave me the antibs. She sent the remaining wee off anyway and when i called up for teh results of those, (just to check that it was a urine infection) i was told that my wee results were CLEAR!!
That does not sound right to me! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | i agree just go to A&E. i am lucky my midwife is really good and so is my doctor. i think you need checked over and reassured your beanie is okay. they won't turn you away at A&E and they HAVE to treat you.
Good luck.
