I do think you could be a little early to be able to find the heartbeat just yet but dont quote me hope some of the others who use them can help.
Please try not to worry they can be hard to use x |

I'm Currently Feeling: | What kind did you get? Some aren't really very good at finding the hb and are more for talking to the baby and playing it music and stuff a bit later on. Also, it can depend on where the baby's laying and where the placenta is and stuff, so try not to worry too much. Are you due a MW appointment next week? |

| do you have an anterior placenta? I have and some days the heartbeat is so loud and clear and somedays a struggle to find.
Try going across in slow stright lines from left to right. Start really low and go slowly. If you hear the placenta (wosshing wind through trees sound) then you are probably close. Dont worry though, some dopplers dont pick up the heartbeat til 18 weeks + |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I've just had my MW appointment this morning and she got the heartbeat so you can def hear it now (I'm 15+6 - my ticker seems to have mysteriously disappeared) but don't worry because the baby can be hiding beneath the pelvis or our of the way and it can't be hard to pick up. Even when you get something it might be the placenta (i.e. your own) heartbeat. It's only a little bean with a tiny heart so it can be a struggle to find it. Don't be disheartened. Why not take you doppler with you when you see the MW and ask her to help you find it with yours? You can check it's working properly that way too. |

I have worried myself sick now though it is horrible I just want to go home and try it again. I hope it is just too early.
What will happen at my midwife appointment tomorrow will she listen for the heart beat? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Midwife will have listen tomorrow so that should put your mind at rest a bit. Sometimes they can be very hard to find, even our m/wife had problems, so try not to worry. I stopped using mine as I was finding it too upsetting. Have a good appt tomorrow |
