I'm Currently Feeling: | The bloods taken at the 15/16 week appointment aren't so bad... only 2 vials, if I remember correctly. It's not like the first time when they take about 7 or 8 of them -- then I almost passed out. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Every time I get blood done they take 5-6 vials out of me! I HATE getting blood work done with a passion. It creeps me out (and yes I have a tattoo as well! haha) |

I'm Currently Feeling: | You have my total sympathy hun, as I too HATE getting bloods taken. Every time I go it's a proper ordeal, as they can never get my veins easily. But I know that I have to get it done and I just focus on the fact that I need to do it for my bubs, that usually helps me to focus.
Good luck hun, you'll be fine.

I'm Currently Feeling: | Did they not take blood at 13 weeks?
Don't worry if you go a bit faint, remember they've seen it all before, she will look after you.
I almost fainted at my last two blood tests and had to have a lay down and water, and fresh air. And I wasn't even worrying about the needle.
My tip to stop yourself fainting is to make sure you've eaten recently, and have had a drink (preferably something sweet) and take off any extra layers of clothing - you are more likely to go faint it you feel overly warm, dehydrated, or are lacking in sugar levels. Low blood pressure and low iron may also cause fainting when pregnant, but they will test for this at your appointment anyway.
Also, if you aren't good with needles - try taking a friend or partner and get them to distract you at the other side.
Hope if goes well, good luck. |
