Moses basket to Cot

I need your advice pls...... I got my cot today woohoo and im on

, but I have no idea how long to keep my LO in his moses basket. Pls help x

I can't remember properly but my son was about 6 months when I put him in his cot.

Mothercare catalogue suggests 6 months in basket or crib but my Mum says they start moving around much sooner than that so must be careful they're not active enough to tip it. My mum suggested putting the basket in the cot so it is easier to change over. My sister has passed hers on to me already, her boy is 5 months now.

I think 6 months is probably about average but if baby is long or wriggly then you can move them sooner. You'll just kinda know.

I think every baby and mother is different, my mum put us in cots at about 3 weeks, but i think they do advise 6 months.xx

It depends on the baby my mum said she kept all of us in ours till 2 months but then put the moses basket in the cot for afew months and my mates baby out grew hers at 3 months! Im sure when the time comes you will just no

I also read 6 months but you can do it sooner if you feel like the baby is gonna be fine in the cot.

My son was a wriggler and the moses basket would wobble cause he moved so much!! After about 3 wks we put him in his moses basket in his cot because i was worried it would tip up in the night!!

We still used the moses basket for naps downstairs but only till he was about 3 months as he ended up being a chunky baby!!

I'm not going to bother with one this time as we now live in a bungalow so am going to get a crib for our room instead.

I know alot of people who do not use a bassinet at all, they simply start the baby right in the crib from the beginning.

I am not sure what were doing yet. I can see the moses basket being handy for the first few weeks... But.... we also have a gorgeous crib and are starting our nursery decorating

So we may just be getting some baby monitors.
