I still haven't told my dad. We don't really talk that much. My mum and dad divorced when i was about 8 and I went to live with my mum. My dad's got a new family now and we don't see often. Once or twice a year the most. We do get along, just never talk. Plus he lives in Estonia and I live in the UK. And I still haven't told him... I think i am going to send him an email or a text... Feels very uncomfortable to tell him. Like I've done something wrong. Although I know I haven't.

But good luck to you gal! xx

I'm another Daddy's girl and was absolutely shitting myself about telling him, especially since me and my OH had just split up so the timing wasn't great. I told my Mum first and she was fine like I knew she would be and in the end she told me not to be a wimp and just tell him.

So I just basically walked in the house saw him sat down and just blurted out very quickly 'Dad, I have something important to tell you, I'm pregnant'. He just stared at me and asked if I wanted to keep it, and when I said yes he came over to me and gave me a massive hug and said he'd be there every step of the way. And true to his word he has been and he's soooo excited about becoming Pops.

Try not to fret over it too much. Your Dad loves you, i'm sure you'll get a better reaction than you imagine. Good luck Let us know how it goes.

Yeah I almost shit myself too when I knew my mom was telling my dad (it was just better this way!) but he was defintely cool with it. He didn't talk for a full day, but he got over it. I don't think it was so much the fact that I was pregnant as I was SO close to graduating.

Well like Rae my mum told my dad it was so much better for it to happen that way. He called me and told me it's ok and I just cried at him but he was ok with it all in the end. I'm sure your dad will be too it just takes some getting used to for some parents.

Aww don't worry. You may be pleasantly surprsied at his reaction!

I think the problem also lies with the fact that they see their little girls as being innocent and pure. When you announce you're pregnant you're announcing that you've been up to something else too.
Whether you're married or not I think alot of dads find that a bit difficult to come to terms with.
