My Scan... and a problem... UPDATED


Hi ladies! I went and had my scan on Friday, and they found a very rare condition called velamentous cord insertion. Essentially, the cord is attached to the side of the placenta, rather then in the middle which is typical. If this is the only problem, it may not be a big deal as they will just monitor her growth, and I will have to have a c-section (as labor can cause the cord to break away from the placenta causing massive bleeding). There are other complications associated with this situation, but I do not know yet if any apply, I have a doctor appointment this afternoon that will hopefully give me more information - hopefully good news.

On a good note, she is doing great, her HB was perfect, and she was measuring at 21 weeks as she should be. The tech had to shake my belly to wake her up, and then she was not a happy girl!! I am posting her pics below:

Lovely pics! aw hun sorry to hear that. Was there not an artical on this morning about that today? I might have the wrong thing though...i'll just investigate...

Love the pics, but sorry to hear there is a problem. Glad they're monitoring you and hope that it the doctor can give you some more info later.
