All this reading has got me thinking more and more since I have just checked some calculations. What do you think?

A few facts:

Had 4D scan and the doc went of my last period, even though I explained that I had a very early Ov, as in calendar day 4, she said it was from my last period. Ok.

I think I am 25 weeks, my local doc says 26 weeks and 2 days and baby is 800 grams. My Fundal height is bigger than my weeks. Maybe I'm looking into this too much but tell me what you think.

Since last Oct/Nov up until getting pregnant, we had had a stressful patch so our intimate goings on were a little sparse. I was charting from October.

October - November: Period Oct 26th - November 2nd. (30 day cycle. 30 - 35 day cycles are the norm for me)

Sex on November 6th
Sex on November 10th

Period again on November 23rd - November 30th, very light. (28 day cycle)

Sex on December 9th

Period, again, December 13th - light. (That was only 20 day cycle!)

Period again December 30th - January 2nd, normal flow, but short. (17 day cycle!!!!!)

Sex January 3rd
January 4th - EWCM - possibly ovulating??!!

If I actually caught on December 9th, that would now make me 27 weeks this Sunday!!

If I look at my body, I don't actually eat more than I did before, maybe slightly more, yet I have put on 5 kgs since April! Doc says babs is 800 grams, this seems quite big! My belly is actually quite large, is it water or could I really be further on!! Doc says I am more than what my calculations say:

If I go off sex in January and OV on 4th, then that makes me 25 weeks today, yet doc insists I am further on, 26 weeks and 2 days which doesn't tally with my calcs. Also remember 4D scan doc says I am 25 weeks as she went off my last period.

I am going for another 4D scan in about 5 weeks at a different hospital so we will see what they say!

Don't get me wrong, I am happy if I am 25 weeks, but if I am further on ...... I just want to be prepared, that's all. I actually find it all very curious, the body works in mysterious ways sometimes!!

Oh, I will add that after quite a few of you told me I may be better off at the private hospital rather than the local horrible one where no one speaks English, we called the private one and it sounds fab. My mum has already said she will help us out if we are short on paying. They provide everything for the baby, nappies, towels, wipes, etc, I only need my toothbrush as everything is provided for me, all meals included and they help you with everything, breast feeding, changing, etc and one or two speak English!!!!!

If I have a normal birth it costs 680 leva which is approx. 280 pounds and if I have a C Section, it will be 980 leva, approx. 400 pounds. For piece of mind, we may go for it. We get a tour when we go for the scan in 5 weeks, I can't wait!

The only thing I can think to say is that sperm can last up to a week in the body, maybe the fertilisation itself could've happened later putting you in between the 25 and 27 weeks?

Well this is what I am thinking, maybe getting pregnant had nothing to do with January, maybe the short and often and weird periods in December had something to do with being pregnant then!!!! I mean, 3 periods in the space of 6 weeks!!!! All short and light! I actually thought maybe I had had a chemical pregnancy and the last period I had was my normal one!

Thing is, the first doc I had, although very kind and good, he was not as thorough as the one I have now, so I only have measurements, etc from April. I don't know what weight I started at, but I was a large size 10 and now I am very much a 12, but my bum has stopped growing and it all seems to belly growth now!!

I really dont trust scan dating! I know, for a fact, that I conceived on the 8th March and yet the scan has put me nearly a full week ahead of this. It is not biologically possible! Maybe you are 25 weeks and the baby is measuring bigger as it is simply a bigger baby!

I am going by the hospital dates (as then i get scans earlier etc) but will argue the toss if it comes to an induction as I know for sure how pregnant I am.

Thanks for that Carries. Like I said I'm not too bothered. I think I have too much time on my hands today. OH is out of the office, I don't really have anything to do (well I do but can't be bothered as it is Friday and my birthday!!!)

And please please don't wish a big baby on me!! lol. I have yet to find out what drugs I can have during labour!!!

Hahah big could just mean tall! Measuring a week ahead is unlikely to mean a 14lb baby or anything.!

Okay well...personally, I don't trust a damn thing the doctor's say. I would stick to your guns, because they have screwed me around so much. If you think you're 25 weeks, I would say you are 25 weeks. Those scans can be a week under or a week over as well.

Hmmmmmm my completely non medical brain tells me the 29th of September (and ill say 7lb 6oz...see not mean at all!)

I know it wasnt a guessing thread but I just wanted to see if I could get closer to your delivery date than the Doctors!!!

It's true about the scan dating though. After about the first 12 weeks the development rate is much less universal and this habit of just changing dates gives me the impression that there is potential masking of small/large babies that could be to do with something else. Hopefully just variation but potentially complications.

As to your weird periods. They do sound odd! I am certain we conceived the first month we tried, had really strong symptoms for a week then they fell off and I had my period as normal but a bit more painful. The thing is I am equally certain that I then didn't ovulate the month after. It could well be that you conceived at some point, it didn't take and that then messed up your next cycles. Possibly you had a light bleed while pregnant or maybe missed an ovulation or something like that. Even ovulating twice - it's not unheard of!
