First baby stuff and general natter

Hi everyone, how are you all today? I've been a busy bee so not been on BnB really for a couple of days. Still trying to catch up and I've been reading for 2 hours or more!

I think today my sickness has been a bit less again so I'm hoping I'm going to get a few days off this week. It'd suit me fine as I'm about the country these next three days.

I did my first baby shopping yesterday. For me I bought some black trousers for work and some comfy slouching trousers for home, both from mothercare. I'm in love with my soft slouchy trousers!

For baby I got some bath sponges, some muslin squares, pack of some cute totes like socks and a pack of bibs which are very cute but have some questionable Geography on them! (Not noticing at the time if the strongest indication of pregnancy brain yet!) I also for a Tommee Tippee steriliser with bottles set as it had £10 off in Boots. An odd selection but a start! Also yesterday my sister visited (she came shopping with me) and gave me so much baby stuff! Tonnes of vests, sleepsuits, romper suits, cardigans, scratch mits and a couple of outfits for newborn (including a Chistmas one, awww). Also a rocker chair and moses basket and bedding etc, oh and a bath too. This is why my first purchases were odd! There'll be more yet to come before December so best to save our money for the things we won't be getting handed down.

Also last week I found out that the MIL wants to buy our pram so that's great news! We're getting a second hand cot/changing chest of drawers/wardrobe set too so not a lot of big purchases to make now. Only real nappies!

Feeling pretty pleased about having some baby stuff to play with (including some cute stuff!) but have started feeling a bit scared about the prospect of birth and baby! At least I've a few months yet to get used to the idea!

I might update with some piccies if I can be bothered to take some, but too late now, need my pregnancy sleep!

Hope you're all doing well.

WOW you seem a lot more prepared than me. However we can't get anything big yet as we are moving house in September, so don't want to have to transport anything hefty.

This weekend however we have picked out a buggy!!!

OH's sister has a list of things to give us, which is a real help.

The only other things we've bought is baby's first teddy, scratch mits and 5 packs of t-shirt bodysuits (in 3 sizes, depending on the size of the bambino).

Had a good weekend with the OH, he's gone back now thou, so it's just me and the cats. Not looking forward to work tommorrow really. I have a six day week to look forward to.

I'm not so prepared, just got 6 nephews hand-me-downs my sister and sister-in-law want to get shot of!! Gonna wait for a bargain pram hopefully. My sister wouldn't bring me any of the stuff until after my 12 week scan so I gues it just feels like a bit of a milestone. Not got any toys yet.

Hope you have a good week. I'm not looking forward to work this week either. Bleugh...

My Mother in Law started buying bits for us at 13 weeks, my Mum just got something yesterday apparently, and his Gran has started knitting...

We have lots of freebies already thou .. nappys, wash cloths, baby wrap towel, car sun visor, nappy rash creams and frog and duck wash mits. My OH jokes we'll have everything we need before the baby gets here without buying anything. lol
