When i was pregnant with my son, we only managed to get one class which was about a week before he was due as my hospital in stoke on trent had stopped doing them and didn't start again until i was almost due. I didn't find them much use, i learnt more from watching the birth programs on sky!! I won't bother with them this time round although my friend who lives in northampton has been having hypno birth classes, i'd be interested in doing those instead.

I took the classes here in the US before my first and second babies were born. I have to agree with bex though, they were informative, but not very useful. We should do our own version here on bnb. You all can post what you remember from your classes, or what has helped w/past deliveries and newborn baby stuff. That way those of you not getting them can have your own personal class whenever you want to read it!

i was in the same boat last time round i am also from warrington and didnt like my team of mw's anyway so rang up the NCT. they put me in a crash course 2 saturdays and a night in the wk on breast feeding. they cost about £100 which is expensive but there were only 4 other couples in our group and we met up a few times once the babies were born so it was nice to meet pl due near to you. they do also have waiting list's etc but its always good to just give them a call they could prob slot you in somewhere even if its not chester there might be a course close by good luck hope you get something i found them useful but 2nd time round im not going i can remember heehee xxx
