When we had our first, the hospital wouldn't tell us so we'd have had to have a private scan (we didn't bother). This time round we both wanted to know and the hospital have changed their policy.

It doesn't ruin the surprise, it still is a surprise, just a little sooner!

We've decided not to, but if we're lucky to have more, then we will. We've given the bump a name (JB) so thats made him quite real to us, but I still call JB him all the time! I just have a feeling that it's a boy! Don't know why.

the_hug - we've got our 20 week scan tomorrow too! EXCITING!

We know we're having a little boy and it's been lovely to know. It has helped us to relate to him and imagine what he might be like. It's also good knowing what to buy for him.

However, I can understand that some people want to save the surprise for that special first few moments with their child.

I'm sure you will be pleased whatever you decide hun, good luck

I voted yes - NOW. However, actually it was hubby who really wanted to know. I was happy to find out but would have been happy to wait too.

I would wait and it be a surprise but my OH wants to find out so i agreed to find out.

i must admit though...will be nice not to call it "it" and the clothes are nicer when you know what you are having otherwise everything is cream! and there is only so much cream you can have before it looks samely!!

I had to know. I didn't find out with my first, and I was CERTAIN in my own mind I was having a boy, but I was very wrong. I hadn't even had a name for a girl picked out. I have been wrong on my guesses with every child, so I will find out if possible. But it was a great surprise not knowing!
