Hi Ladies

When are you or have you started your nurseries? I have no idea!! Am nearly 20 weeks so only half way through but have no idea also trying to do a list of everything I need is scary how much stuff and the expense of it all.

How much are you budgeting to spend or have spent?

Any top tips?

Any help greatly appreciated x

I've finished mine

If this is your first baby, then you'll probably want to buy everything new ??

I had aot of stuff come back to me from friends and family, so I haven't had to spend anything really.. just the bedding, curtains, paint, and border.. and thats only coz I liked them and couldn't resist...

Freecycle is a great pace to pick up baby stuff.. as can be ebay sometimes..

It doesn't have to be expensive.. and don't be fooled into thinking you need all the newfangled baby stuff... you'll find you don't even use half of it.. and baby doesn't care if you have the latest designer changing unit and matching furniture

So it's really up to you how much you spend... it's nice to go all out, but not essential

Thanks hun! Is great you are so organised! Yes is first baby!

I have no idea so am trying to put a list together of things needed and luxury items. I am not too fussed about accepting things from others at all we may inherit the moses basket from hubbys brother who just had baby so that will help I guess. Just trying to put a budget together as hubby appointed me as project manager but he has appointed himself as the treasurer...bugger!!

Freecycle? will google and see what I can find thanks hun for your help will get cracking!

Also we have two bed flat which is lovely victorian conversion so massive rooms hubby works from home sometimes so the "nursery" is his office so not sure he is too keen to be kicked out now to start putting together the nursery......

Well done! I can't wait to get started just want to start buying things pockets are itching!! but like you with a 2 bedroom flat we don't really have lots of places to store things for the moment so that kind of puts a dampner on things for the time being!!

Some things that are great is pain the wall and get the wall stickers, can get different sets out of homebase for girl or boy.

I wont get to do mine until my bro moves out

I need to get started on ours soon too!! We live in a two bed house, so visitors will soon have to get used to staying in a nursery We moved away from friends and family a few years ago so we tend to get a lot of people down!!

We're going to wait for the scan so we know whether to decorate for a boy or a girl and then it's full steam ahead with the decorating I don't think we'll bother buying the cot bed for a while though, as baby will sleep in with us for first few months and I'm expecting a lot of visitors!! Once baby moves into own room, visitors will have to get used to sleeping in the lounge or getting a nice B&B

xx

I can't decorate until I go on Maternity in September, which is when we move in, but I'm already planning.

In one of the show homes we visited there was this really nice, simple mural on one wall and I think I'm going to copy that. It was all white walls and then one painted (was blue but could be pink), with a teddy face outline in white - really effective and great on a budget.
