I'm Currently Feeling: | Thinking about the birth already Hello everyone, I know its early days but I cant stop thinking about the birth of my LO.
My mum and MIL went overdue with all 5 babies (between them) so does that mean im likely to go overdue? Beanie is due 29th August and I am desperate not to let her go into September because of how the school years fall. If she is born after 1st september then she will have an extra year at home before she goes to school (as selfish as that sounds).
I was also hoping for a water birth which my midwife informed me would be fine, but then when i was at hospital last weekend i was told they dont have a birthing pool and the only forms of pain relief they can give are gas and air or pethidene. If i needed an emergency c section i would have to be put to sleep because they are a small hospital they cant carry out a spinal block or epidural. Now im panicking!
Ive still got ages to go but it seems just as i start planning something i get told i cant do it! | | | | Status: Offline

| That sucks! Could you not have a water birth at home or is that not for you...?
Try not to worry abuot the birth, the baby will come when it comes so my mum is fond of saying. Chin up! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | That does suck hun.
I didn't follow with any of my mums pregnancies, except we have problems carrying girls.
I wouldn't worry too much. You could opt for a home birth, but then theres risk of low amount of MW's and then another idea is shattered. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I have thought about a home birth but we live quite out in the sticks and im a bit worried that if there were any complications it would take an ambulance a lifetime to reach us!
I think because the midwife said i could have a water birth, i got all excited about it just to be let down!
I dont want her to come early but at the same time im dreading going into september!! | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | hey hun i think we are all starting to think about the birth there is so much to organise and we are nesting Im surprised about the waterbirth is there more than 1 hospital you can book into?? I live in the sticks and Ive got a choice of 3 hositals. I understand about the homebirth it would take me an hour to get to the nearest hospital and that would worry me. take care
ps drug choice seems really poor |

I'm Currently Feeling: | av u asked if u can hire a pool and take it with you? Thats what we have to do because they don't have the facilities. Were u thinking of having an epidural? If you think so then perhaps look into going further afield to a different hospital? Or if an epidural doesn't bother u so much how about a home birth as the others have said? x |

I'm Currently Feeling: | The closest hosp is about 40 mins away (the rubbish one!) but then the only other one is about an hour and half away. Worried about this too as my mum went from waters breaking to delivery in under 2 hours for both me and my sister. I know it wont be exactly the same for me but im worried just in case it is!
Was looking into having an epi if the pain gets that bad but then again would have to go to the other hosp.
Didnt think about asking if i could hire a pool and take it there - this may be the answer to my probs! | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | I would ask your midwife about a home birth, I'm sure they have their own ambulance on stand by so if there are serious complications. They can also do alot at home that they can in hospital now. Like I said speak to your midwife she'll be able to tell you more |
