I am permanently attached to a hotwater bottle. I find this helps Even in this red hot weather.

Is it in your back or your hip?

I get it alot, I woke up with it so bad the other morning in my back. I get it in my legs and bum aswell... I can't bendover some times. I think the best thing is just try not to move so much and take what your doctor gives you. If you work then try think about taking some time off.

its where the uterous hits nerves in your lower back, it sends pain through the nerve down your leg

if u have pains it could be a number of things best to see a dr or mw or both

I have it too, since about the same time as you.

As mentioned... Hotwater bottle,
I place a pillow in the crook of my back in bed and that seems to help too for sleeping.

Other than that, it's one of those annoying pregnancy things we just have to deal with.

My OH has had this for 15 weeks ( don't ask how I managed to conceive!!!) Ha....

With him it is a slipped disc ( he had an MRI scan) but some tips he has picked up....

Stretching exercises

An ice pack applied to where ever it aches most (tends to move around with him) helps alot

Hot water bottle as said before

He also saw a sport massage therapist who really helped (£20 a session private)

Also when you get chance lay flat on floor with your legs raised (not sure if you can do this when pregnant so better check 1st)

Hope you feel better soon xx

I find that keeping mobile is best with sciatica, as stopping stil on the spot, or sitting in one position for too long causes everything to sieze up. Hope you get it sorted. As said above, a good chiropracter can work wonders releasing the nerve which bubs is trapping.

I have a pain in my side, just to right of my boob, it feels like its under my ribs. Could this be sciatica or is it not in the right place?
Im at MW at 3.30 today to ask her about it. I;ve lived with it for 6 weeks now but enough is enough !

Thanks Gems xxx
