i didn't find out the sex of my 1st but i knew from day 1 it was a boy. At the birth they told me he was a boy and i was pleased as this is what i wanted but i felt i already knew so it wasn't so exciting! This time i have found out i'm having a girl and now i can have everything ready 4 her! I still feel so excited!
if in doubt use the envelope idea as suggested by others! U can always throw it away without peeking if u really decide u dont wanna know!

Knowing in advance wont take anything away from the birth in my opinion. Even if you know the sex you are still meeting the person for the first time and thats the big part to me. I couldnt find out with my first as it was hospital policy not to tell you but with this one we knew we wanted to find out straight away. My sister didnt find out - she didnt get it that i wanted to either but she understood its personal choice and there is no way my babies birth will be any less special to that of my nephews.

The envelope is a great idea of you are still stuck,

I had my scan today and although we wanted to know the sex, we had very little choice! HE wanted to show us whether we wanted to see or not!!!
Good luck tomorrow, im sure everything will be fine.
The birth will be just as special, its the first time you will be meeting your Little one. Let us know how it goes xx

Good luck with your scan tomorrow, its such a personal choice finding out the sex. OH and I chose not to, which has made choices for the nursery and buying outfits a little more difficult but it was important to us to have a surprise as its our first. Hope you will let us know tomorrow how you get on and if you find out.

I would want to know.

Apart from me the other person I care about is my OH and if he wanted to know then and I partly wanted to know then I would find out because I would hate regretting it but then again if you regret it you could find out later with a private scan? If I was completely against 100% then I wouldn't find out.


In the end you're the only one who can decide.

I don't think it ruins the surprise or the magic at the birth.But thats a personal opinion.
You still meet the little one for the first time,thats a surprise on its own.

Frankly I know I'd be bashing my head for 9 months if I hadn't found out...

It's a personal choice.

The envelope is a great idea! I found out the first time and never regretted it and plan to find out this time. It's just personal choice at the end of the day. Alot of people I know think I'm mad and it ruins the surprise but I'm just one of those that has to know lol! Good luck with the scan! x

It is up to you, as the others have said. We don't find out and I LOVE the surprise after the whole delivery process.
