hi everyone, went to the toilet last night (sorry) and when i wiped there was bright red blood and and the same thing happened this morning, ive not had for along time so its definetly not that! just when i was starting to relax on knicker watch, i just wondered how common it was to have spotting at this stage and if anyone had a similar experience. im going to ring my midwife to see what she says, do you think its owt to worry about?

I wouldn't worry too much until you phoned your MW. Like you said it may be harmless. I haven't had spotting but I didn't want to read and run and I wish you good luck, I hope all is ok xx

I haven't experienced this but give your MW a call and put your mind at ease.

I had that last week, went on for a couple of days and then stopped. my MW sent me in for a scan just to have a look at the position of placenta and to look for any causes of bleeding and all was fine, just my cervix playing up. She said its pretty common, but they often do offer a scan, just for reassurance and also to screen for the tiny percentage who do have a placental problem.

I'd definitely ring and check, hope all goes well

Hi Tinkerbell!

It sounds a bit like a cervical erosion. Sometimes the cervix and surrounding area gets a bit sensitive during pregnancy - blood vessels closer to the surface, hormones etc and this can cause bleeding. I am sure you have nothing to worry about.

Hope everything went well at the midwife's.
