Had to go to labour ward :(

Last night I woke at 3:30am and had really bad pressure pain at the top of my bump running down and pain to the back of my chest and up my shoulder blades.

It was that painful that I was starting to have a panic attack, nothing I did eased it. I thought it was terrible heart burn but nothing worked!

So NHS 24 told me to go to labour ward, so by 4:30 I was there. Heard babies heartbeat etc.

Doctor came over and check my stomach, had a feel around and they think it's because I have a bad bowel and it was completely blocked up and inflamed!

I had to have it emptied in hospital before because my bowel doesn't seem to work well.

But I'd never had that pain before, guessing because baby is higher etc.

It was embarrassing to think I had to go to hospital because I really needed to go to the loo. Not been yet, but got stuff to take tonight!

Sorry for longness!

Oh no !! Sorry to hear you had a bad day

I get pains too when I need to go.... constipation unfortunately is one of the many 'joys' of pregnancy, but if you suffer with it already bless you !!

Glad that bubs is ok though.

Make sure you drink loads, and try some lactulose. You can get a prescription for it, but it's really cheap over the chemist counter too.

Hope you manage to get some 'relief' soon

Ah! How horrid! Hope you feel better soon, constipation is not a nice pregnancy symptom is it?!
