I'm Currently Feeling: | ahh its hard, its a choice between u and ur partner i wouldnt listen 2 his mum or any other person who feels they have 2 give you their opion on choice of names. i love the name summer its really pretty, but like you with my daughter i wanted grace all the way throu i loved it but my hubby hated it even after everyone worked on him he just didnt like it, so i thought as our daughter is "ours" it would be unfair 2 go with a name he really didnt like. so after loads of talks about names, i wrote 5 boys and 5 girls names and took the list in2 hospital and chose 2gther when we saw her. we chose neve kaitlyn and im so happy we did as grace has got so popular where we live and i remember my 1st thought of seeing her wasnt ahh she is lovely etc it was oh no she dosent look like a grace what do i do ha!! im sure the right name will just click, if u like the idea of a disney related name why do you brain storm all the girl characters you can think of and you might just hit on the right name without realising it, let us know how ur getting on sending you lots of baby name wishes ha!! xxxxx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I was so fortunate that with my first my hubby agreed. Ever since I was 9 I was bound and determined to name my daughter Amanda. My wish was granted.
For my second, I truly liked Jayden but hubby didn't. Well, we were separated for a bit when the birth of my son occurred so I got to name him Jayden. However, Dan was able to add a middle name and because I didn't like it at all, I gave Jayden two nicknames. LOL One that I liked and one that OH liked.
But, to be fair, Dan has his turn in naming this little boy and I am glad he has good taste in names. One sticks out for Dan and I have no problem with the name. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | We disagreed all the way through the pregnancy and I fretted constantly about it. Then a few eeks before bubba came we decided, Cerys for a girl, Oscar for a boy...
I hope you find a name that suits you both |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Names are so hard to find and agree upon. I love the name Jade, but my OH isn't sold on it. He wants a long name that you can shorten, but I think Jade is pretty and strong. His dad also is pushing the name Stella, but I don't like it. My mom is also making a list for me but she keeps picking names I really hate. It's hard to appease everyone, so you just have to find a name that you love (I think Summer is great by the way) and work on your OH, maybe he'll come round, though unfortunately it's only fair for him to have a say in it even though your doing all the work. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | I love the name summer!! When I was in junior high I always said when I had a little girl that would be her name. I changed my mind now of course but I think its a beautiful name. I knew a little girl named winter and Im pretty sure that she wasnt born in winter so its not up to when your child is born. I actually think a child named summer born in the fall or winter would be cute as its different and not what you would expect. Its so hard when the OH disagrees. I told my hubby that I was living with the morning sickness, the growing bump, etc and because of this that I was naming the baby. He did however, say he didnt like the name Zachary that I had picked out and really wanted a boys name to be Joshua so I went with it, seeing as though I did choose the rest :P He loves the names I picked out so has no problem and Im sure that with our next 1 or 2 whatever we decide to have he will be more involved in the naming...I just had my reason the names were picked out the way they were. I hope your OH comes around to the name Summer because I think its so cute your son is already calling her that!! Good luck! xo |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I have naming rights for girls, dh has naming rights for boys.
We each get to veto names the other picks for BIG reasons (like "I knew an Emily in school that picked her nose. Our daughter is not named Emily".) Or the "Catherine" name
Otherwise, we agree to go with the other's choice.
Good luck whatever you decide. |

| Its a hard one. Id say veto all names you cant agree on (inc summer although I do like it!) and start again. There will be a name that you both like and maybe agree to use summer as her middle name??
I really like matilda and OH likes Astrid. Its odd as we both like the name each other has chosen but like the one we have said more! I think we are having a boy though and on that front we cant really think of any names we both like! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Summer is a beautiful name! It is hard though, we've called the baby beanie all the way through but now we have found out shes a girl and given her a proper name, even though i love it, it still feels really weird when OH calls her by her name as i still refer to her as beanie!
I think its just what you get used to. As much as summer is a gorgeous name, i can understand where he is coming from if he genuinely doesnt like the name - how would you feel if he called her a name you didnt like? You will find one that you both love, dont worry, there is still time!
