I'm Currently Feeling:

I was always told no underwire too... and with my last pregancies, I did as I was told.....

However, this time round.. even though I've gotten myself loads of soft maternity bras.. I keep going back to my trusty underwires... the others are really uncomfortable and just don't do anything for my confidence at all.

I don't think it's a must...as why would they sell underwired maternity bras if they weren't safe...

I've read that it's a no to underwires in a couple of pregnancy books, and was told when I got measured in M & S. Terrible shame as I always used to wear underwires to give me some shape - I was an AA cup before I got pregnant, and now I'm almost a B - I'm actually wearing teen bras as they're the only ones that go big enough round the ribs (am expanding a lot there). Hope cup size does catch up eventually! I'm keen on breastfeeding if I can, so I didn't want to risk anything interfering - though my self esteem isn't great as the bras are horrible!

I have stopped wearing underwired too as I got told that you shouldn't wear them too. I gave up more because the underwired hurt my boobs and were digging in and so uncomfortable so picked up a couple of tshirt bras from m&s for £6 each but they aren't they most comfortable but thanks Kerry for the link to mothercare website as I went in there recently and couldn't find what I wanted they only had nursing bras so will order!

After my boobies were in so much pain defintely opted for the comfortable option. My sister in law went up to a J and stopped using underwired but got some good support bras from bravissimo as she has tiny back and needs all the support she can get poor luv

You guys scared me for a second that not wearing underwire is a must.

But I did some researching and I found loads of women who wore underwire for the entire pregnancy...
Plus,my doctor never mentioned anything and she saw that I still wear those bras.
So I decide that I'll continue with underwire as I really hate those without one.I don't like how they look on me and how I feel in them...

But thanks guys for the link and tips...

I stopped wearing underwire bra's around 6 weeks mainly cause my boobs were so swollen, that the underwire really hurt. I don't have a problem with normal material bra's and I'm currently a 36E. I guess everyone is different.

Not supposed to wear underwired which is annoying because they sag without the wire giving them an extra push. Could have great cleavage with a lil help right now aswell!

I still wear normal bras. My boobs have gone up 2 cup sizes. I am planning to invest in some maternity/nursing ones at some point

My boobs have not really grown at all lol... Im still just barely a B.

I think that as long as you are comfortable with an underwire, you can wear it. Obviously if it is too small it wont sit right...

I cant imagine a larger breasted women dealing with no support. That is damaging to your back.

I think the reason they say no underwire is because it can interfere with the production of breast milk, as I'm not breastfeeding I've kept wearing my normal bras (although I am going to have to go buy an extension this weekend because they are getting a bit tight).
