Cankles?!! I didn't sign up for this.

Bah! I noticed the day before yesterday that I had big mutha old lady cankles!

They have gone down a bit, but I am totally freaking out that they are going to return. I would post a photo, but I know some of you are still suffering from morning sickness and I don't want to make it any worse.

Could it have something to do with hours on my feet, then a cross-Atlantic flight?

Is anyone else experiencing this?

I've recently noticed slight swelling in my feet (but I'm further along than you I think). I would say that a long flight and long hours on your feet would certainly contribute to swelling. Laying on your left side is supposed to help the swelling go down, as is elevating your feet when possible. I always notice that mine are swollen at the end of the day, but are back to normal by morning. I did read that if you experience any pain or tenderness with the swelling to consult your doctor, as that can be a sign of pre-eclampsia

Make sure you are drinking lots of water. I know that doesn't sound like it will help, but it really does. I think flying really can contribute to the swelling. Put your feet up woman!

I've been suffering with this and have actually gone up a shoe size because my feet and ankles are so swollen. They seem to have gone down this week, but I've been off work with my feet up which might explain it! Try and rest as much as possible, and drink plenty of water! If you start to get headaches as well, best to visit the doctor to get your blood pressure checked! Hope they come down!!!
