It is my first wedding anniversay this weekend and hubbie and I had planned to spend a night in the hotel we had our reception in along with a romantic meal. Now everything has gone wrong....!!!!

1 Hubbie had a meeting in Edinburgh today and couldn't leave until 4.30 which meant that by the time he got back to Aberdeen it would be nearly 8.00. This was ok so far as I had booked the meal for 8.45.

2 Hubbie's car has just broken down on the road outside Dunfermeline. The clutch has completely gone and he has had to be picked up by the AA. He won't be back till nearly 10.00. The restaurant's last orders are at 09.45.

Oh Poppy I'm sorry to hear that, is there any way you could order room service and have it waiting when he arrives?

Unfortunately they only do a really small room service menu - like sandwiches and stuff. My mum and dad are going to have to actually pick us up and drive us out there as the hotel is in the country. This is after DH gets back and the AA drop the car off at the garage.

That's too bad Hopefully you can still enjoy your night together and maybe have a nice breakfast/lunch together tomorrow

Screw the restaurant...You guys find your own fun tonight..

Buy some food on the way like get cake and things and sneak it in, just sit in the nice room and slob out, ha ha thats what i'd do then go out for luch tomorrow (though when i took cake last time to a hotel i ate so much of it i made myself sick )

The saga continues...

We put our car into the garage last night and borrowed another car from DH's mum (we are on her insurance). We drove to the hotel and thought, 'at least we can make the best of things' and have a really nice leisurely breakfast in the morning. As we had just started eating our breakfast the sodding garage phoned to say that we had to go in immediately as the car was blocking some woman's entrance to her house. We legged it into Aberdeen and guess what?...it wasn't blocking her entrance at all - aaaagghhh!

Then when we went back to our flat, we dumbassedly locked the keys in the car - DH blames me of course, even though I asked him if he had the keys and he said yes! So the AA had to break into the car for us.

What an anniversary weekend this has turned out to be!
