Feeling a Bit Fobbed off by Maternity Assessment unit * Updated* Pg 2

WELL.... earlier on today I had some minor spotting, didnt think too much of it but then a wee while later I passed a blood clot and some bright red blood, So called the Day assessment unit who told me to come straight in.
When I got there I had My BP checked and the Midwife took a urine sample then I was told to go wait outside in the coridoor!
THREE and a HALF HOURS later the Midwife came back out to me and said there was no way any Doctor would be free to see me for at least 2 hours, and would I mind going home without being assessed! I went on my way feeling a little worried, that initally she told me I HAD to be seen as I was passing fresh blood but then suddenly when it suited them I was "fine" and "prob wouldnt need assessing" there was one other woman in for assessment and she was sent to another hospital, I understand that Labour ward may have been busy but I find it a little dissapointing that they dont have a doctor assigned to assessing people coming in as emergencies!

I just dont know if I feel happy that no one has examined me! I went there for reassurence but feel like I have had none what soever!

Thats my rant over, I just hope the bleeding stays away now and I dont end up going back to be sat around waiting for hours again! Grrr!

It was the Ulster hun, I havent had any more fresh bleeding but I have a pinkish tinge to my discharge. I feel ok, I've had a little discomfort in my back but no real pain anywhere! Just feeling like I havent had any reassurence really!

I would go back, and tell them you will wait to be seen. If they refuse, ask them to put in your medical records that you requested an assessment for bleeding and they are refusing. That should make them move quicker! ADVOCATE...for yourself...and your baby!

Thanks hun, I am going to call back and do exactly that I think! I have re read thru what the Midwife has written in my notes, and she has actually put that I have been advised to come back later for assessment when they are less busy! BUT she said nothing of the sort to me! she just told me to go home!
I have had baby on the Doppler! and I am feeling so much movement so I am reassured a little by that!

Thanks for all the advice ladies x

I hope everything is alright. Sounds pretty reassuring with the movement and doppler hb! I would go back to though just to be safe and demand care!
