Sorry to rant, but I am soo cross. I called the hospital to chase up whether the Consultant had seen my notes and looked into whether my previous cone biopsy would mean I needed a cervical stitch. Well, the midwife I spoke to was quite possible the most patronising woman in the world! She said that as the Consultant had not put that he wanted to see me, then he doesn't feel it is necessary. so when I asked whether they had got my notes from the hospital that did the procedure to check how deep it was/how much cervical tissue was taken, she said no, and proceeded to explain how this was a different hospital (no, really, I must have missed that!). So, then she says "has everything been alright so far" and I said yes, so she said "just keep that in your mind lovey" - well, if that is going to stop something going wrong because of weakened cervix when the baby is heavier, then brilliant, I'll try it!!!
Anyway, eventually she gave me an appointment...1st July! How flippin' long away is that?
Maybe try contacting your GP because if you do need a stitch I'd of thought you'd need it around 20weeks. That's when my friend got hers put in due to a weak cervix.
i would phone back and ask to speak to someone else and explain your not happy to wait that long for an appointment, you could also try your own gp and midwife or even better phone the hospital and say you would like to speak to the consultant. have you tried ringing the hospital were you had it done? then you could mention that youd spoken to them ect. if it was me id just keep pestering them - in the end they probably give you a new appointment just to get rid of you.
Maybe keep pressing to speak to a doctor about this. It is annoying when people keep fobbing you off - especially when it is on an issue that is worrying you so much.
I hope you manage to get some solid information from them.
Thanks everyone! I've decided to push it with my own midwife who I see at my GP surgery on Thursday - see if she can make something happen more urgently! Hope you are all enjoying this sunshine!
