I'm Currently Feeling: | Made To Feel Like An Idiot Thought id come on here & share my little rant with u guys!
Yesterday I was abit concerned as I hadnt felt the baby move for 24 hours which is really unusual. I called the midwife to see if I could perhaps make an appointment & she was so lovely & said she'd feel alot more happy if I went down to the hospital immediately. I live like 5 mons away so this was no problem. At the hospital they checked bumps heartbeat & sure enough it was there strong as usual. I said to the midwife im sorry to have wasted your time but I was worried & my midwife said I should come doen. She was basicly then very rude saying I had no need to be there, that they didnt worry about regular movement till 28 weeks gone. I didnt know that. When I felt movement for first time I was given a kick chart to plot all my babys movements and was told if you havent felt 10 by midnight contact your modwife. Why give me this chart then only to make me feel stupid because I used it??
And to make it worse sitting in the waiting room I got chatting to another young mum 2b & I cant remember what she said now but it was something I didnt know & I said to her 'oh I didnt know that' Then some nosey older pregnant woman turned round and actually said to me 'thats the problem with you young girls having babys. You don't know as much as us experienced ones'!!! How dare she?? From the day I found out I was expecting ive done everything in my power to be as well informed as the next pregnant woman. Im so mad!!
Sorry this is so long! Had to get it out!! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Grrr she was first timer once!! Feelings don't change just because of your age, silly woman -don't pay any attention. As for the midwife its awful she made u feel like that, especially considering u explained you were following the advice of your personal midwife. Try not to let them bother u hun -after all - its natural for you to get worried from time to time (or in my case all the time lol) |

I'm Currently Feeling: | That is ridiculous! And just because you've never been pregnant before doesn't necessarily mean that you are less knowledgeable than those who have been. Hey, I've had babies but there are still things that I learn on here. Each pregnancy is different, each delivery is different and each woman is different.
I'd have snapped back at her for being so rude! |
