I'm Currently Feeling: | Really sad. I woke up this morning and found my cat unable to move his back legs (both of them) and he appears to have a weakness down his (R) side. His (R) eye has gone all black too (like his eye is one big black puple - no yellow there if you know what I mean). I think he has had a stroke
I tried to get him up walking and he is stumbling all over the place. He then tried to get into his litter tray but didn't managed. He did the toilet on the kitchen floor and all over his fur.
I am totally broken hearted. Scampi is 22 years old. I got him at 13 as a rescue cat from the cats protection league. I knew he didn't have much longer to go but I hoped he would be here in time for my baby so we could get a photo all together.
I am taking him to the vet at 4.30 today but I fear the worse. I cannot stop crying as I feel I am losing a friend (sorry if that sounds silly). He is such a gentle cat who brought me a lot of happiness.
Christine

I'm Currently Feeling: | Oh no, poor you!!!
Reading that has made me think about my furry babies!!! I don't know what i would do without them.
I think the only way you can look at it is that he has had a very good life (that he remembers) and has lived a very long life! He just needs to rest now.
Good Luck later
Thinking of you

I'm Currently Feeling: | Aaaw thats really sad!! Ive never had that experience as my cats that have died all ran away to die, i found one of them curled up under a tree a few days later. He sounds like a very loved cat though and im sure he's had a wonderful life! | | | | Status: Online

I love my cats too and it's just horrible when they get sick. Give your cat lots of love and kisses and I'll be thinking of you this afternoon. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | It doesn't sound silly at all, it's really sad when your pets get to a certain age, and so hard to say goodbye when the time comes as they are part of the family.
Like the others have said, 22 is an amazing age for a cat to get to, and all you can think is what a lovely life your cat has had. I really hope the vet has some medication to help prolong his life for a bit longer!!
Take care and best wishes
