Stabbing pains when standing up!

Thought i'd post here as different places say 2nd tri starts 13/14 weeks and i'm in between!!

Just wondering if any of you ladies have had any sharp stabbing pains on standing from sitting?? I'm finding if i forget and stand up really quick then i get a strong sharp stabbing pain really low down.
No other pains apart from these!!

Oh and hi to all over here in the 2nd tri!!
Thanks. x

i do too... my midwife said its probably 'Round Ligament Pains'

You may feel round ligament pain as a short jabbing sensation if you suddenly change position, such as when you're getting out of bed or out of a chair or when you cough, roll over in bed, or get out of the bathtub. You may feel it as a dull ache after a particularly active day — when you've been walking a lot or doing some other physical activity.

Hope this helps.... xx

I too get these pains sometimes, usually when I stand up from my desk at work, or when I've been sitting in front of the computer for too long at home. It is quite a severe sharp pain, although it does pass quickly. Best to mention it to your midwife tho hun, I'm gonna do so next week when I go for my appt. xxx

I get these sometimes, when I get out of bed. My brain just isn't in gear at that time of the morning and it's like a reminder from my body (morning - your pregnant!!!!!)

BTW, welcome to the 2nd Trimetser!!!

Definately sounds like Round ligament pain to me.

It can be quite scary at times too. But normal. At my last appointment my gynaes receptionist gave me a sheet explaining them. The best way to get rid of it is to either bend towards the pain or to sit down.

Try to remember to stand up slowly and to avoid sudden movements... easier said than done I know
