Eating eggs!!

I knew you couldnt have fried eggs and poached eggs runny!!

But just read in a mag that its a no no to scrambled eggs too!!! I have eaten scrambled eggs like possibly 3-4 times a week since being pregnant (i work breakfast shifts at a restaurant) and thought I was being quite healthy!!!

Am i wrong??

Does anyone else completely aboid eggs all together!?!

Should I stop with my egg consumption?!?

I eat eggs quit often when I have to work that day, the protein in them seems to keep me fuller longer, never heard that you couldn't eat them (with the exception of uncooked eggs of course)

and one of the bullet points says... soft boiled/scrambled/poached/fried eggs- or other foods that invovle raw eggs like soft whip ice cream, fresh mousses and mayonnaises- in case of salmonella!!!!!!!

I still eat dippy eggs, and sunny side up fried eggs. If there was any danger of salmonella from eggs, no one would eat them , let alone pregnant women. All lion stamped eggs are 100% guaranteed to be salmonella free and all the chickens have been vaccinated against salmonella. I broached the subject with my mw early in pregnancy, and she agreed with the concept, but still said thats what the guidelines are. Just my opinion.

anything with pastuerised egg is fine..... it's the homemademayo and ice creams that they warn against, as this is effectively 'raw' egg. where-as brands, such as Hellmans, and yes, Mr Whippy, will have pasteurised egg in

Really, at the end of the day, women in Japan still eat sushi when they are pregnant. I think we in the West tend to freak over every little thing, I just try to use common sense when it comes to my eating.

I agree, I wouldn't worry about eating eggs. As long as they're lion marked you can pretty much guarentee they will be salmonella free. Like Ann Marie says, if they did have a salmonella risk nobody would eat them. Doctors hype up foods pregnant women shouldn't eat. Never seemed to harm anyone else. All about common sense I think =]
