I need to get a grip

I feel like I'm losing control.....

I keep crying at work. I feel like its all getting on top of me. Problems keep cropping up and I just dont know how I'm going to make it though to the end of term. This is my busiest time and I need to be on top of everything and I'm so not - both in the literal sense and mentally. My assistant is off recovering from an op and I've got a new person to train to cover my maternity which just slows me down.
This morning I was getting upset and wound up and the top of my tummy started to hurt. I went back to the Dr's for them to take bloods at lunchtime about my feeling constantly out of breath. I asked to see the Dr while I was there and they couldnt fit me in til 3.40. I dont even know if there's any point going as there's nothing wrong with me - I'm probably making myself feel bad.

Anyway waffle over - better get back to it.

x

Aw Lisa, sounds like you need some time out. It's really not fair to expect you to do everything you're doing, and I know the kids are really important to you, but your babe has to come first. They should have measures in place to cover this type of situation, nd if they haven't, that's not your fault. Take it easy over the weekend, and make sure you go to that docs appointment too. Get them to sign you off for stress for a couple of weeks, just to chill. xx

Hi,

Firstly

I am totally with you on this one. I am having some similar problems, and instead of crying, I am just getting stroppy with people, even more senior people! I just don't seem to able to stop it happening. I almost feel my blood pressure rising, and this morning I got some period pain type crmaps which I'm sure are nothing, but a reminder to calm down. I'm also feeling quite paranoid, which is wierd!

Just try not to let it get to you (I know it's easier said than done though). Just remind yourself that you need to take care of your baby and therefore it is not worth letting work wind you up.

Take deep breaths, go to the loo and just re-group!

And let it all out on here, that's another good cure!

Cath

ive been like this too lately, so overwhealmed and stress, and then you stress bc you think you are stressing the baby! i actually went to the hospital last night due to tightess and muscle soreness (from stress) she prescribed me magnesium and i feel better today. i also find myself crying over things, crying hysterically bc i feel so fat...

you need to have some deep relaxation time when you get home at night like a nice bath with a magazine and some tea! i

Hey hun

Sorry to hear you are feeling down just remember there is only so much you can do at work and what you can't do will have to wait. I am sure it is making it worse trying to train someone to cover you when on maternity as that can really slow you down. Is there not anything they can do to help your work load give them a load of stuff to do so you can catch up on what you need to? Would be good practice to drop them in at the deep end whilst you are there with them?

If you feel like crying then just slope off to the toilets and have a good cry and then make yourself a brew x I know it sounds easier said than done sweets. Or even just take a few days off next week (if you can) to recharge your batteries.

Make sure you have a good relaxing weekend when you get home have a lovely bubble bath get your sloucheys on and cuddle up on the sofa with your fella watching crap friday night tv! or even better am thinking of getting out I am legend to perve over will smith maybe try that?!

Keep your pecker up hun xx

Oh hun, I hope you manage to get to see your doc, maybe they can help with relaxation techniques or maybe sign you off if you need some R & R. Have a fab weekend and really pamaper yourself, maybe treat yourself to a new book or some lovely candles. I hope your feel fully charged again soon.

Sorry you're having such a tough time. Big

Try and have lots of chill time this weekend, and maybe your doctor can sign you off for a while and your cover will have to, well, cover!
