I doubt the pharmacist will give you over the counter creams if you're pregnant. I think the advice is to go to your GP and get one thats safe in pregnancy

Hi

Sorry to hear you have the dreaded thrush. They are awful and really uncomfortable.

Since falling pregnant I have had 3 thrushs. I would get rid of one for a few weeks and then another one would come along. My consultant has been giving me a pessary and a cream for external area (Canesten).

If you go to your GP they will write you a prescription and you don't pay for it if you are pregnant. I think some pharmacists don't like to give to give out thrush treatments without a prescription to pregnant women.

Also, my DH had to be treated (he applied the cream) as my consultant thought he was reinfecting me. Luckily I am thrush free for the moment.

Good luck

Christine

Could you call the receptionist, explain how uncomfortable you are and that you're pregnanct and ask if the doctor could leave out a prescription. If not you could maybe contact your midwife and see if they have any ideas?

Sorry hun
