Hi Belle
Sorry to hear you had a blood clot previously. This is my first pregnancy but we have a gene in our family which makes us at risk of PEs (my brother had one many years ago) so as a result I also have to inject myself everyday with Tinzaparin. I think the hospital are being over cautious really but like you, I'd rather that than a clot!

Mine go in my thigh and at first my legs were one big bruise but have been taking them for a couple of months now so the bruising isn't so bad. I was a bit worried about the complications of taking the medication ie risk of haemorraging etc but my midwife has assured me the risk is minimal.

Best of luck with the pregnancy (and birth). Good to know there is someone else out there who will be a pin cushion for 9 months
xx

I have to inject these in to my tummy everyday and they hurt like hell but i did it with Joshua James so i will be doing it with this 1 and it so beats having another blood clot again, so in a way its good the docs are keeping an eye on me!! I have to do these for the rest of my pregnancy so i am now hoping for it to fly by!!

Did it start off like a varicose vein? Cuz I have a couple, and one is quite large and has been hurting and has been itchy this week at work, since I stand a lot.

I am going to show my new doctor next week, but I'm scared. What exactly happened with you last time?

I am sorry to hear about that Ema, but at least they are keeping an eye on you and you are getting really good care.

My sister had a six inch blood clot in her shoulder/arm when she was 22 and when she goes on long haul flights, she has to get injections before and after each flight. She has been told that if she ever gets pregnant, she will have to have some kind of blood clot prevention as well. At least, this way, she knows she will be safe in her pregnancy.

Good luck with that and good luck with your sexing scan!

Poor you. This cannot be very pleasent for you. At least they are keeping an eye on you and you are being monitored so it won't happen again.

How is your placement going? I hope they are being nice to you.
Just think you will soon know if you are having a wee girl or boy!

Take care.

Hello!

I'm a fellow Clexane jabber!!

I had a pe and dvt post birth 6 years ago, and because of the factor V they decided we need to be jabbed!

Some days i have a real mental aargh in jabbing, but i know loads of people go through more than this, and i'd rather not die of a pe!!!

Are you moving to Warfarin for the 6 weeks after birth? My consultant said a lot of ladies do as they're sick of jabbing! but warfarin scares me, they said you have to stay in and get the levels right, which i'm not keen on, and also that it stays in your system longer so if there was a bleeding problem it would be harder to sort out.

Anyhow, i just wanted to say hi!!
