antenatal classes???

i totally forgot to ask my mw at my 25 week appointment and she didnt mention it but when should you start antenatal classes??? xx

With Poppy I started in August and she was due 20th October. There were people there due end Sept and some end Nov so it varies really. I am glad I went early, with Poppy ending up being prem, so am hoping to go this time in April or May.

My midwife told me they start usually around 30 weeks. It varies from area to area but a friend around me that recently had a baby said they took 3 classes. One talked about before the baby is born, one about labor and delivery and one which talks about after the baby is born.

I asked my midwife and she said I could ring up and book them now I am over 25 weeks. I rang the hospital and left a message but I am waiting for them to get back to me...

I'm phoning tomorrow morning to book mine. I'm due in July so I should find out when they start and how many classes there will be. By the sounds of it, in my area they are all take place during the day, so my partner won't be able to come with me as we can't afford for him to have the time off work but I'll know more tomorrow.

Hey,

When my midwife booked me in she gave me the information about antenatal classes then, which i sent off the other week and i'v had a reply saying they will start in June (i am due in August).

Double check all the information in your notes, as you may have the form in there. If not just call your doctors and ask the receptionist as you may just be able to pick one up from them.

I am starting in April and my baby is due June 30th. I am doing NCT and when I booked they asked for the due date and told me when I should be attending.

I would phone up and ask, I found out at my 25 week appointment the couples ones were totally booked and could only fit me in to go by myself, I was so annoyed, really want my OH to be there. the one I am going to runs for 5 weeks, and cos they are so full the 4th one will be on my due date! hope wee one doesnt come early! x
