A Tip From 3rd Tri

Ok.. So.. I know there will a number of ladies who look at this and think "It doesn't matter if I get stretch marks.. It's all part of pregnancy"... HOWEVER.. I used to think like that.. Intill today when I found my first stretch mark.. Big angry and purple ... I just wanted to post and thought this would be the most appropriate place as this is when bumps start to form.. If you are using things like bio-oil etc.. DON'T FORGET TO RUB IT IN ON YOUR LEGS AND BUM ASWELL AS TUM!!!!!! This is my first pregnancy so I thought (Naively) that you only got stretch marks on you're tummy... I was wrong!! I found my first one... ON MY BOTTOM... I can safely say I will never be going swimming again .. Just a little tip from me to you.. Hope it helps!!!!

they appear in all sorts of places! as i found out the annoying way, but hate to say if your gonna get them your gonna get them. i slathered all sorts of things all over everyday and still ended up looking like a roadmap! but good news is they go quite quickly after birth, i didnt think they would but have been pleasantly surprised! sorry if ive put a downer on this lol

Creams, oils etc. make no difference, absolutely no evidence that they do.

Some people will just get more stretch marks than others! With my daughter I didn't think I had any, but they were all on the underside of the bump that I couldn't see til after the birth, not a nice post-natal surprise!

I think you may be right about the creams etc! I applied bio-oil and cocoa butter morning and night and got loads of stretchmarks on my belly. I didn't put any on my thighs and bum and didn't get any stretchies there, so what can I say!

Maybe use the creams to stop them getting as big/deep/purple and to make them go quicker, but don't expect not to get any!

I tend to agree....

I did all the lotions and potions in my first pregnancy and i have the British Road Atlas still remaining on my tummy/thighs 10 years later! They faded, but never disappeared. Whereas my Mum has none from having me and my brother, so i think its just luck of the draw!

xxx

I've heard it's actually the massaging in of the cream not the actual stuff but none the less i massage boob to cankle morning & night. I'm prone to them and have them from when i was a teenager.
