I'm Currently Feeling: | Don't worry about it, it's really normal not to feel anything at this point in your pregnancy. I've just started feeling "twinges" which may not even be kicks or movements, though I think they are. Some women don't feel anything until week 23. Everyones different | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi!
I have just gone 18 weeks and have not really felt anything either. Occasionally I have felt a 'popping' sensation on my left side, but it is very sporadic - and leaves me wondering if it is wind or not!!! Like you, I don't have much of a bump yet. It does make you worry, even though you try your hardest, doesn't it! I have even contemplated buying a baby doppler to listen to the heartbeat.
I have been told I have an anterior placenta which may mean that I don't feel movement as early as some people (as anterior placenta is at the front rather than the back - so it is between you and the baby). So I am 'trying' to not get too het up about it all - I did say 'trying.' I heard my baby's heartbeat at my midwife's appointment a couple of days ago which did make me feel a bit more reassured.

It seems from reading posts from the other ladies on here that lots of people start to feel baby later than 18 weeks so don't worry - my MW said around 20weeks is normal.
Also, it's not unusual to not show at 18 weeks either.
I hope your scan goes well and is reassuring (I still have 9 days to wait for mine). | Thankyou for your advice. It's more like prodding, sometimes sharp like nipping. It causes a discomfort more than pain i guess, takes me by surprise more than anything tbh! My tummy seems to have balooned a bit now, more noticable now i've bought some better fitting tops.

I'm Currently Feeling: | Thanks ladies
It's been very reassuring to hear when you first felt/or haven't yet felt movement jus so i know there's nothing to be gettin worked up about. On Tuesday night, we were sat there watchin tv cuddled up on the sofa (like you do!) and i'm pretty sure LO gave me an almighty wallop. Made my entire body jolt ( a bit like when some people twitch when they're fallin asleep) it happened on and off for a few minutes (gentler than the first one tho). I told dp when i felt the 'kick' and at the same time he nodded because he could feel it. Not felt it since tho, we presume it was a kick tho and that perhaps LO was just a bit more over than usual. Guess i'm gonna know for sure in a few days now how LO is with my 20 wk scan comin up
On the doppler topic, i bought an angel sounds one but still not bee able to find a hb so jus becareful if you do plan to buy one, it's easy to allow yourself to get worked up if you can't hear it tho everything is prob okay. | | | | Status: Offline

Hey - I also notice you are from Lancashire - my 2nd home! Where abouts? My hubby is from near Bolton and my family live in Preston (where I'll be for the B/H). | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | I have the AngelSounds too. I still can't hear the heart beat of Mia either. Although I do know that I have the placenta at the front, so that'll be why. I can hear the wooshing of the placenta, ad I can hear the popping noises of her moving though, so thats reassuring. | | | | Status: Offline
