For anyone else who is leaking

Some women start noticing an increase of vaginal fluid around this time, which can sometimes be mistaken for amniotic fluid. It is not uncommon for women to leak a little bit of urine after this point in pregnancy, due to the increasing pressure on the bladder and pelvis. How can you differentiate between amniotic fluid and urine?

If you aren't sure, wear a panty liner. If you soak it due to a constant small leak of fluid or a larger one, you should consult with your healthcare provider. Some women will notice a small trickle of fluid that can't be stopped when you squeeze the muscles you would squeeze to hold the flow of urine. If you are only leaking a small amount when you cough, laugh or get up on occasion, you might just be leaking urine. Be sure to consult with your physician if you are concerned. They can perform an ultrasound to measure the amount of amniotic fluid surrounding your baby. They may also do a vaginal exam and look for evidence of premature rupture of your membranes.

I think i have been leaking urine too. I always need the toilet every 5 min now but will defo talk to doc next time i see them xxx

I think I'm leaking urine too, but I have a UTI at the mo. I mentioned it to the doc and she said it's common when you have an infection, but it doesn't stop you worrying so thank you for this post x

I think im leaking urine too! Lol.. Its nothing constant so thats eased my mind. This baby is just so low and i have so much pressure on my bladder.

When my amniotic fluid staring leaking, I was pretty sure it wasn't urine. Even when I completely emptied my bladder, it was still coming out. Also, when you dribble...it feels different. The time I finally went to the hospital it was gushing and there was no question, but all they did there was a simple paper test. They just dipped a piece of paper onto me...and if it turns a certain color - it is amniotic fluid.

Well i slept 12 hours lastnight, i woke during the night to write this cos i couldnt sleep lol.. When i got up this morning, nothing came out. I read amniotic fluid is more constant, it wont stop and start like urine. If it were amniotic fluid, it would have pooled while iw as sleeping, and gushed when i woke up.
