I love the idea of having a surprise, of not being able to choose the name before baby is born, everything like that. I know it's personal choice but I always think it's a shame when people find out beforehand.

It also means you get inundated with pink or blue stuff - I wouldn't want that for my baby anyway, so am glad people can't start buying things in advance! Lol!

I also feel like I'm getting all the specialness of pregnancy, so I think it will be lovely for my bf to be able to know the sex before I do. I'm really looking forward to him telling me, he'll be so excited!

(Typing that just made my eyes water! Lol!)

DH and I kinda feel its one of those last 'big' surprises in life! My BIL was talking about it and he made us see that sometimes its not all about planning and kinda going with the flow! He said you'll never be as surprised as you are when you have the baby and they announce whether its a boy or girl!
It doesn't matter to us either way. We are happy as long as the baby is healthy. I can tell you the inlaws will be upset once we tell them we are not finding out the sex! They've been bugging about it since I got pregnant! OH WELL!

I was in two minds about this as thought it might be nice to tell our daughter whether she's having a brother or a sister but we've explained to her that we won't know until it's born and she's excited like us! I wouldn't buy loads of gender specific stuff anyway as know lots of people who have been told wrongly!

Love the idea of my hubby finding out first and telling me. We are also planning on buying 1 gender specific outfit for each and take back whichever we don't need!

Wooh, can't wait!

We're on team yellow because it's our first baby, and we're just so overwhelmed at the idea of becoming parents that it really doesn't matter if it's a boy or girl, just the fact it's a baby is amazing, if that makes sense!

I have managed to get loads of clothes already that I love and there's not much pink and blue in it at all, so it hasn't affected what I've bought. The nursery is yellow with a Beatrix Potter theme. It's so lovely I would have that if I knew it was a boy or girl anyway.

Plus the daydreaming is really fun, trying to picture us with a little son or a little daughter...

It kind of feels like an extra present to unwrap too, at the end of everything not only do you have your baby but you get to meet them for the very first time. It just seems magic.

I have my 20 week scan on Thursday, I really want to stay on team YELLOW but I feel temptation towards the dark side of finding out.

For me I just want that surprise at the end of labour and to be able to surprise everyone else who has been guessing for so long.

I feel like finding out at the 20 weeks scan is cheating and like opening presents before Christmas.

xxx

even though there is a part of me that desperately wants to know, I didnt find out with my DS and that moment when my hubby was the first to say it's a BOY!!! was such a special moment for him and for me! I was considering asking the sex this time but my Hubby really wants it to be a supprise! I have to say I thinkIt will be exciting keeping us guessing right up untill the end! There is a little bit of me that is feeling this one may be a girl, but only time will tell x

thanks everyone. i considered staying on team yellow but couldn't resist. plus i don't like alot of gender neutral colors, and dd insists on a girl so i figured it might be good to give her a heads up if it was a boy. i kinda wish i had stayed, baby almost didn't give me the option too. it took alot of work to get the shot.
besides as a kid i always opened my gifts ahead of time using a needle to slice the tape then retaping over the broken tape.
