18 weeks babys heart beat was 140-150

i had to see the on call mid wife today as iv got a small bleed, they done all the cheacks ant think its a water infection and the baby is fine. its the first tin=me they have told me what the heart beat was. now iv read someplaces that the heart beat can sometimes tell you the sex of the baby. but some say 140-150 boy and others say girl.
any thoughts?

when they first told me my baby's heartbeat , it was 174bpm. now according to the old wives tale i should be having a girl.
NOPE! i'm having a boy lol.

Mine stayed between 150 - 160 and I'm having a girl!

Sorry nothing more than old wives tale. Every baby's heart rate will fluctuate at somepoint or another in a pregnancy and will not stay exactly the same throughout or it wouldn't be normal. So according to the tale every baby's heart beat would be a girl one minute and a boy the next.

our little girls heartbeat has always been between 140-150 so if you're going off that theory then its a girl.

but i did ask this question when i went for my 20 week scan and she said it was well too early to tell the sex by the heartbeat x

My little boys heartbeat is around 140-150 and my little girls heartbeat is from 160 plus

Load of pants Im afraid.....my little fella has a hb from 130 to 158 depending on how hyperactive he's feeling. X
