There's nothing wrong with second-hand things! If I were having a boy, everyone would be second hand. But since I'm having a girl and everyone around me had boys, we get nothing! lol

Babies outgrow things before they've even had them on a few times, so they're like new anyway. There's nothing at all wrong with 2nd hand. And by the way, my son has that same cow print suit and you'll be wise to invest cos he's had it on loads and its still good as new, has lasted ages and looks proper cute on him. Everyone comments on it when we are out x

I'm getting exactly the same response from my family - you can't put a newborn baby in second hand clothes! Errr....why not? I thought my mum and nan would particularly be on my side having had 3 children of their own each. But as people are starting to realise it's my baby and I'll do whatever I bloody well like ;-) happy bidding Hun! X

With my first son i went all out and bought everything new myself. I was offered things and always turned them down being stubborn and not wanting to look CHEAP. Now that my son is 19 months old and i look back on all the clothes i still have brand new with tags what a waste of money! They wear there clothes a few times and grow out of it. Once they hit size 1, thats when they get abit of wear out of there clothes.

Now being pregnant again but with a girl ive had to buy things new but im not going to silly like i did. Ive also gotten things off friends, you wouldnt even know they've been worn. It doesnt make you an any better parent to buy new or second hand.

I think alot of girls just like to brag that they paid this much for the pram ect ect. As long as your baby is fed, has clothes on there back and loved then nothing else matters.

Ha, the baby won't know or care that the clothes are second-hand! Save your money for when it's a teenager and will have to have all the latest fashions :P

I haven't bought anything for my bubs so far but have a big bag of second-hand clothes from a friend. I was thrilled with them!

It is sooo cute!

But she was like ''why are you buying used stuff for new baby?''

I told her well why not, I mean its been worn like once or twice, and for under a tenner off ebay I can get a bundle of 40 items, if a few of them get here and are a little worn or bobbly from washing, I'll give them to the charity shop.

Things like the cow print thing, its only gonna be worn once or twice before the baby has grown out of it!
What's the difference between family hand-me-downs and buying 2nd hand??

She made me feel bad for it even though I know there is nothing wrong with it! Lol
why pay a fortune unless sure gonna have more kids ive bought everything second hand bar bottles and bits like that (pram, cot, clothes all second hand and in fantastic condition and real bargins saved a fortune nrly 400 quid i reckon or more.
