Questions for people who have flown around 20 weeks mark

Hi I am off to Tenerife tomorrow and I am a little bit nervous about travelling when pregnant. Has anyone got any tips for travelling or flying?!

I am wondering if it is safe to have ice in drinks? And if the seatbelt on a plane fastens over the bump?

Thanks to anyone who answers!!

I flew at about 20 weeks when pregnant with my little girl. We booked the seats with more leg room (cost a bit more but well worth it).

It was okay except that I got very swollen feet and ankles so just in case, if I were to fly again whilst pregnant I'd make sure I had loose fitting shoes.

Hi, I'm doing the opposite! I live in Tenerife and am flying to the UK on Tuesday to do a spot of baby shopping and meeting up with my Mum and Mum in Law ...sooooo excited!!! Your absoutely fine to fly the belt will fit under the bump nicely, just think of all the 'larger travellers' that mangage!!! Your fine to have ice in your drinks but we always use bottle water for everything, even in the kettle we always have done even before i was pregnant.
Only tip really is dont drink too much before and during the flight..the loo queues are always a pain and if your anything like me you'll be needin gto go al the time!!
oh, and bring a cardi, it's still nippy in the evenings..
Have a fab time, where are you staying?

Flew to San Francisco at 20 weeks and back at 22 weeks. Wasn't worried and there were no probs. Get an aisle seat so you can get up and walk about a bit from time to time, but Tenerife is such a short flight you shouldn't really have any problems. The seatbelt was plenty big enough (and I have a good sized bump!) but there was a larger gentleman sitting near me who couldn't fit his belt so they gave him an extension belt (so if worst came to worst that would work).

Thanks so much for the info.

Luckily we have an extra legroom seat so that's good! I've got some flipflops in my hand luggage too so it sounds like I'm set!

Fluffy that sounds like a fun trip, baby shopping. I bet you can't wait, except for our British weather, ha! Thanks for telling me about taking a cardi, I hate being cold!

We are staying at Bahia del Duque in the south I really cannot wait! xx

Hola!

Bahia Del Duque is lovely always reminds me of the carribean(think its the straw parasols), my husband works at one of the banks down there! The beach is lovely but the sunbed hire is expensive! Weather update, goreous and sunny today, blue skies we are off for a stroll up the mountain before the grand prix...i knew we moved here for a reason!!!
Cant wait to go shopping, havnt bought anything yet, thought i'd let the grannies spoil bubs first!!! Dont care about the weather, think i can hack it for a few days, besides will mainly be in the shops!!!!
