Question from 1st Trimester - Does the food aversions ever end?

Although I'm still a week away from joining you ladies in 2nd trimester, I had to pop over for some advise. I have suffered greatly from Morning (in my case, all day) Sickness and aversions to the smell of all food. This has been really difficult, and although I'm on Diclectin for the MS, I'm still suffering from nausea and throwing up. I know (and hope) this will pass soon, as most women experience relief by 16 -20 weeks. My question is, will I ever be able to handle the smell of food cooking again? I haven't ate a meal with my family in over 5 weeks. I kind of pick at things here and there and hope that I can keep them down.

Has anyone else suffered with this during first trimester, and found relief?

Mine went completely away at about 16 weeks. However, I still can't handle any kind of fish. I vomit when I eat fish now.

In short: some do and some don't.

I had an aversion to garlic - which, when you're married to a mediterranean chef, is impossible to avoid. Most of the time I'm okay eating it now, but I have the odd day where the smell of it makes me feel sick all over again. Unfortunately I don't know it's going ot happen until it's there in front of me and I am expected to eat it

I know a lady who had an aversion to mushrooms in her pregnancy though, and 4 years later, she still can't eat them. It really depends on you.

I went totally off coffee and garlic. I'm just starting to be able to face them again now! I used to love brussell sprouts but went off them straight away, still can't even think of them without feeling sick!!!

I've been gone off chocolate. I can only stand it in liquid form, as in hot chocolate. However, candy bars, treats, brownies, cakes, etc. I can not stand it. I even have dreams about eating chocolate but once it gets to my lips, it's like ew. I'm scared half the things I don't like, I won't be able to eat them after pregnancy either.
