Sorry, I am butting in from the third tri board.

Potassium is supposed to help with cramp so try eating bananas maybe!?! I never got them pre-pregnancy but get it all the time now and nothing much helps me to be honest. I do find when I stretch out in a morning it gets worse so I try to remember not to do that. Sorry I am not much help, but you are not alone in getting them!

Oh I forgot to mention, more potassium intake with help with that. Try eating one or two bananas before bed and you should feel better. Sounds weird but it worked for me.

I had this with my first pregnancy and also with my second. It's excrutiating. I'm convinced it's natures way of building up your pain tolerance in preperation for labour!!!LOL. Asked the midwife what to take for it and she suggested Tonic water and that tonic water worked for cramps when not pregnant as well. I've been drinking a glass before bed time and so far no cramps.
First pregnancy I tried both milk and bananas and neither worked.

So either this pregnancy I've been lucky so far and it's a coincidence that I've had no cramps or the tonic water is working.

A colleague at work who is diabetic also had terrible night leg cramps and I told him about Tonic water. He's been drinking it and says it has worked for him. So it may be the tonic water working for me too.

I had one of these the other night. My calf felt like it was going to explode! My husband told me that hydration is another reason for it. I never had a charlie horse so painful in my life! I didn't have it with previous pregnancies either. It is still aching after 2 days. =(

A few weeks ago this was me at about 6am. It was torture and it hurt so badly I didn't even think I could scream! After the Charlie Horse, my calf was sore for about 3 days after. I'm sorry this happened because Lord knows it's terrible.

Try staying hydrated (lots of water during the day) we are suppose to be drinking more water anyway(yes, I am sick of drinking that much water), also try taking a (1) tums everyday. And flexing you foot when you are cramping will prevent it from getting worse.
