I have a road map on my tummy, butt, and hips. I am like you...usually very thin (or at least I was in my twenties and before my first baby). You will find that no matter what lotions and potions you religiously massage in your tummy, it will not make a difference. If you are destined for stretch marks, you can thank your genes for it. You will find when you give birth that they will be very red, or in my case, almost purple...but, please, don't fret...they will fade away fast, and soon they will be silvery lines that you can barely see. You can get your shape back...don't let anyone tell you that you can't. You will look great again, no worries hon. It just takes toning and lots of sit-ups, but it is so doable. This is coming from someone who gained 90 lbs in my first pregnancy and I managed to lose 92lbs in less than 6 months and was toned and fit just in time for my second pregnancy eaxactly a year after my first was born.

I havent got any new ones so far (fingers crossed). I got them with my son and I was only 20, and devastated.

I too was really upset but there is nothing you can do about them hun...if you are going to get them, you will get them. They faded within a year or so though.

But, mine are not noticeable now at all and they have faded to a silvery colour. I can still wear a bikini as you really cannot see them now, so its not all bad.

But i totally know where you are coming from...im on constant stretch mark watch now...lol

Read those labels carefully! My OB/GYN said there is absolutely no cream or lotion that can prevent stretch marks. The labels usually say "appearance" of stretch marks. The part of the skin that gets stretch marks is the strae (sp?) layer...it is not possible for lotions to "soak" in that far. I rubbed them in anyways, thinking that they can't hurt...and if they are safe for pregnancy, they can't....but, if you are going to get them, you are going to get them...or at least that is what I have been told.

Hey lauralora - I was just wondering if you were SURE it was a stretch mark? The only reason I ask is because I about died when I looked in the mirror the other day and saw what I thought was one - turned out it was a blood vessel. Since you are carrying more blood around you tend to see a lot of blood vessels close to the surface of the skin. My boobs look like an atlas!!! lol!

And I agree - creams do not penetrate deep enough to really be of any use regarding stopping stretch marks if they are gonna happen....in saying that - I use bio oil just because I can't help myself - plus my tummy and boobs feel really soft!!

well i had them before i was pregnant and so far fingers crossed all it has done is make the ones i had a little redder no new ones

i got them on tops of my legs too as when i was 18 i was a size 6 wet through and stayed this way till about 22 then for now obvious reason other than my mum telling me its a family traite i went from the size 6 to size 14 - 16 in about 6 months and no amount ot diets have got me smaller weight wise i have gone down loads but size of frame has stayed big

my sister has been the same my mum swears it runs in family slim till about 20 - 25 then ballon

so as long as i dont get more i am happy and my boobs have always been really large and up to now none there so am happy there too lol

I have been using bio oil morning and night since I found out I was pregnant. I also use Palmers olive butter as a general body moisturiser every morning after I have been in the shower. No stretchies........ yet!!! My skin feels really soft.

shoot! if your bump only has one friend then mine is trying to throw a block party! lol although i do feel a little happy at the moment bc my stretchies arent the really dark red or purple, they are kind of clearish pink lookin...so for now they kinda blend in, lol

and i've used everything under the sun to prevent stretchies, but i just so happen to have them in the same spots that my mom still has from me...so i think its more genetics.
