My OH works about 30 mins away from our home, but when he wants to get somewhere fast, he will!

My DH works about 20 minutes away, give or take with traffic...But the hospital, I can be there in less than 10 minutes if it's an emergency and pretty much the same with him as the freeway exit is just beside his work....so I'm not worried.

My husband works 5 minutes away but my labors are fast and quick. Because of this, we are having a scheduled induction date. My doctor is allowing this so I don't give birth on the car ride there! Ask your Midwife or Dr. and see what they say. Mine were willing to induce at 38 weeks to avoid this problem.

Hubby works about 20 min away from our house. I will definately be calling him early enough though before my contractions start getting too close together.

My partner is a builders laborour and could be working either close by or upto an hour's drive away.

When it gets nearer the time he's going to ask his mum to be on standby if I go into labour and he's at work so she can get me to the hospital and try phoning him, his boss or the lad he works with to get him to come home.

It's quite scary to think I may be on my own. My parents live about 40 minutes away, my mum works in Leeds and my dad could be in a meeting anywhere in the country, so they're not really an option at the mo.

I wasn't too worried with my first even though my OH works an hour away but now it scares me to think i will be at home with my toddler by myself an hour away from family so if i go into labour suddenly i need to get OH home and someone else to drop what there doing drive an hour and look after LO! It will def need some planning!

I laboured at home with my first for 6-8 hours before going into hospital -so had plenty of time to get my partner there.

However with my last labour (luckily early morning and DH was still at home lol) I had my first contraction about 6am, got DH up about half an hour later, as I felt the urge to push - dropped off our other kids at my sis' s house and we only just arrived a the hospital in time for my sons birth. Hospital was 5 mins away only too, which helped.

So I am bit more concerned this time lol- he works about 25 mins away only, but then it will take another 25mins to reach the hospital. And that's if the roads are clear lol.

xx

My partner is a security guard atm and is currently half an hour away from the hospital, working 12hour night shifts 6on 3off. Tho he is moving and changing shifts some time this month, so I haven't got a clue where he will be after that or the shifts he will be on. His compony have jobs all over England so could end up anywhere.
Then he'll have to get hold of a supervisor to get permision to leave the sight when the supervisor gets there, so chance's are unless I have a long labour, or I go into labour in the day/or when he is off, chance's are I'll be doing it alone!! lol

My husband just brought up this subject to me the other day. He works everywhere in town hes a truck driver. Hopefully when I go into labor he's home. I have a hospital 2mins away but that isnt the one im going to. If im alone ill just have to call someone who is close to me the hosp is 20mins from me. He may get in trouble if he picks me up in the truck lol We will see what happens.

My hubby works about a 30-45 minute drive away, but he's a driver for a lab and that's just where he parks our car and then picks up a company car, and he could be up to a couple hours away when I go into labour depending on where he has to go to pick up samples. Luckily the hospital is less than a 10 minute drive from where we live and I'm hoping that he'll be home in time, otherwise I'll be taking a taxi or an ambulance.
