mother in laws from hell

Hello allyou lovely yummy mummies...

wondered if anyone is experiencing interfering mother in law's?!!

My mother in law has been a nightmare.. not just interfering but just doing VERY odd things.. this is her first grandchild..and she is not hard up for a bob or two.. and she keeps buyin the baby clothes from charity shops, she found a teddy outside a neighbours house and cleaned it up for the baby, has been knitting some vile outfits.. she knows we are having a boy and keeps knitting pink blankets and stuff or knitting thick winter carddies for a summer baby?!?!

I hvae tried being polite and saying stop..but she does not pay much attention!!and keeps buying crap!

I am sorry if i sound ungrateful, we have had LOADS of hand me downs and my sister in fact gave us her cot and changing table etc.. so its not that iam a snob agbout that and i am very grateful for everything but its like she is doing things on purpose to annoy me.. she then keeps telling me to go back to work full time once the baby is here and she will hvae the baby all week.. just getting worn out with it.

SOMEONE HELPME..or tell me im not the only one!!!

xx

i dont think you actually have the mother in law from hell because she is in fact mine

seriously, i think mother in laws were put on this earth to test our patience, mine is a complete spoilt brat and if i so much as dare too disagree with her she wont talk to me, even if that means she doesnt get to see leyla, shes not bothered at all, she actually told me the other week that she didnt care if she never saw leyla because ''i'll have other grandkids, dont you worry about that!''

she is not talking to us atm because we were going away for leylas 1st birthday and she was meant to come round on teh saturday before we went to drop her pressies off, but i was busy all day, i had to go shopping and then pack everything for 3 people to fly the next morning, so i said to her would rather if you came round wehn we got back cos i wont be able to take her pressies with us anyway cos i wont have space so its better if u bring them round when we get back then you can watch her open them...she got all stroppy saying i was stopping her from seeing leyla, phoned up her mum, started slagging me off saying id been mean to her (seriously she is 40 odd...you wouldnt think so would you lol) so her mum and dad had a go at me, her son had a go at me and called me a slut haha, and now she wants me to go and sort it all out with her mum and dad...shes really a crank

what the hell did we do wrong to deserve mother in laws from hell eh lol

x

Sorry i'm not experiencing this...but my sisters mother in law (well they've split up now, so just the other granny lol)

Any way, since her and her partner split, he hasn't made any effort with his son, who is now 14months old, but his mum isn't paying much attention either, then randomly popping up, like at christmas, she had to see him, as it was his first christmas and bought him really strange naff gifts! and the same for his birthday, she popped up again and had to see him...why all of a sudden just because its his birthday?? and she's not seen him since...(his birthday was 15th jan) not a peep out of that side of the family..my poor little nephew, he'd be better off if they just didn't pop up at all

oh and as for my nephews father is concerned, he bought him a doll for his first birthday.. and a card which read
'Alfie
(message printed in card what ever it said..)
Daddy x

but the ex MIL, she's a few sandwiches short of a picnic, she's a nut job

Me, me, me mine MIL is nuts and certainly not on the same planet as everybody else seems to be. Have posted this before but on the day she found out we were expecting our 2nd son she spoke to my hubby and turned round and said I expect you will try for a third baby and have u thought about how much that would impact on your finances!!!!!! excuse me we are over the moon with our 2 boys, how bloody rude and insensitive! anyway am going to stop there as could go on all night about all the strange things she has done in the past and keeps doing arghhhhhh!!!!!

My MIL has to be in the top 10 of mother in laws from hell!

To start with, she told my OH to leave me when it turned out i couldnt naturally convieve!

Then we started IVF and she told us we should wait at least a year to spend time together ( we have spent 9 years, how much longer)

THEN when we found out we were having twins it was 'well i cant afford 2 grandchildren'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She thinks i am an awful wife becuase i dont work ( made reduntant at 12 weeks, been on bedrest for the last 4 weeks but that doesnt matter!

Then to top it off, she hates everything we are planning on doing. She laughed when i said i wanted to try breast feeding and said babies dont like plastic ( had recon 2 years ago on left side) hates the pushchair we like and thinks we should have a car becuase otherwise she will always have to come to us!

I cant drink and dont wish to learn - i like walking and dont want to waste money on a car when it will sit in the car park most of the time.

Rant Over

Mine just doesn't bother.
When OH told her she was going to be a grandma, she said congratulations, then asked how the weather was with us (we live opposite ends of the country)
She never asks how the pregnancy is progressing, never asks how I am, and has never once asked if there is anything she can get us (My parents immediatly offered to pay for the pram and car seat)
