Anyone else having best friend as birth partner?

Afternoon ladies

Just wondered who your all having as birth partner(s).

I really want to have my OH there for odvious reasons but I know he wont cope well with labour / birth very well and wont be very supportive. So I really want to ask my best friend too as she's so great and would know exactly what I needed etc.... I havn't asked her yet but can you see any down sides to having a friend there? Also do most birth centres allow 2 birthing partners?

xxxx

sorry just realised i prob made my oh sound like a right d**k then lol, the reason i say he wont be very supportive is because I know he'll just go quiet and into a state of worry / shock. He wont think if I need a cold flannel or some water or a back rub lol..... I could be wrong but I dont think I am lol xx

I had my OH and my mum with me when I had my daughter and plan to do the same when baby is born this time around. To be honest I dont think I would have coped as well if my mum hadnt been there with me. My OH just stood there in shock...haha. If you are close to your friend hun then go for it!!! xx

On that one born every minute they seem to allow two birthing partners. I am having my best friend preped just in case I can not get hold of my DH for some hideous reason. Both sets of parents live miles away and tbh I wouldnt want my MIL there. Dont get me wrong, she is lovely but NO!!! I will only have my Best friend in the room if my DH can not be there, otherwise she will be waiting outside! It is our first baby and we would like it to be us togther. Soppy I know!!!
xxx
