15 weeks in nobody told me....

I went to see the consultant today at the hospital and really wanted a scan because I've been experiencing pain and I've been very worried, my last scan was at 8 weeks. I asked twice and the Dr said I couldn't have one, I was getting really annoyed at this point. She came back after doing something and I asked again but this time really kinda had a go. I was so angry with the fact that I've not been told anything and my head feels all over the place. She finally said that she would arrange a scan and I have one for friday. She felt my tummy and she said it feels right for 15 weeks. She said bye but I had some questions to ask so I asked and she started to look through my notes, she hadn't looked at them at any point. She then saw that I've been on propranolol (beta-blockers) for my migranes and told me that they can affect the growth of the baby. 15 weeks gone and has told me this! Because of this I have to go see a neurologist. The hospital only usually does a scan at 12 weeks and 20 weeks but because of this fact that the growth of the baby could be affected I have to have scans at 20, 24, 32 weeks so far...

okay, rant over! hiya btw!

Hi,

Migraines are horrible, you have my sympathies as I suffer from them as well! It is really terrible that your doctor knew that you were pregnant and knew that you had been proscribed beta-blockers and didn't inform you of the dangers.

I hope things are ok with your little one. I am sure they will be.

xxx
