Videoing the birth and a moan

Last night my OHs Aunt came round for a cuppa and started going on about giving birth and epidurals and being cut and pain and gore. Basically stuff I really don't need to know about right now, and I asked her to stop talking about epidurals cos they scare the bejeezus out of me and make me feel sick, but on and on and on she went about needles and where they go and the like........AAAAAAAAAARGGGHHHHHHH SHUT UP!!! I'll deal with it when I have to thanks and not before!

And then she started going on about needing a woman in the delivery room with you because your OH is no help, and that we should take my MIL in there with us. AND she suggested we get the whole process video'd! Now I don't know about everyone else, but its bad enough that my OH and half of the hospital will see me sweaty, fat, straining, shouting, potentially poo'ing and generally looking ugly without videoing the process! Has anyone else thought about having someone video the 'event'??? Just needing a bit of feedback cos now the OH wants to 'discuss' it tonight!

I was thinking about taking the camera for the boring bits, the waiting and in between contractions. When they start to get really painful he'll have to turn the thing off cause I might throw it out the window! I would like to film the first few hours of our girl's life too, but the actual gory bit... who would want to watch that again!?

No, but after giving birth I wish I could see how I coped as I don't remember a lot of it. I wish I had got my boyfriend to film some bits lol.. but not a random person, that would be freaky.

Kind of video, you'd watch once and cringe, then destroy it!!

No way no how, there will be no video and the only person in the room (other than doctors and nurses) will be my hubby.

We'll have a video camera--for after the birth, but during no no no

My OH's parents talk about it every now and then but teasing me. Thank god its just that though! I made pretty sure to them that if they wanna be there (at the hospital that is) they can film the waiting room not me! Some people might like their birth of their child on film but it doesn't apply to me!

Just tell them how you feel about it, I'm sure they'll understand
After all its you giving birth not them.

I am videoing it, as much as I don't want to. Not up close but from the far point of view, and then I'm showing it to my little sister to make sure she doesn't get pregnant, along with all my cousins who are girls.

Videotaping is fine after baby is born, but not anytime sooner, for me anyhow. Having a C-section, and I don't even watch what the heck they do during the process. I'd rather remember my baby being put in my arms but nothing else before.

No! No way! Not a chance. And anyone who tries their luck will have the camera shoved up their..... nose. We may get a camera for filming afterwards but I'm most certainly not allowing anyone to film the birth.

As for who will be there with me. My husband.. that is it. I don't think it's the MIL's place to be there anyway. That's my opinion
