I just drank enough to ensure my bladder was full before the scan and then had to wait and by the time she was pressing on my bladder i thought I was going to pee my pants!! a good healthy couple of glasses of water/sqaush is good!

Hi there.

Squash is fine, usually a pint of water is sufficient, although both times I was asked to relieve myself as my bladder was too full!! Lol How do you stop half way through flow....... Anyways a pint should do it...try and not drink it all at once though.

I hate when they tell you to 'go for a little wee', when you are absolutley busting.... I mean come on... start doing your kiegels now in preparation. I went for a private scan, and I didn't need to drink anything.....

My instructions were to drink two full glasses of clear fluid at least an hour before the appointment and not to pee after that.

OOh don't do what I did! I drank 4 pints of water about 2 hours before!
I had to stop in public loos on the way to scan!
Got a great pic though.
Like everyone says just a couple of glasses should do it. It takes about 40 mins to fill up your bladder xx xx

My instructions from the health unit was to drink 5 glasses of water an hour before.

I did this and ended up in so much pain! The tech laughed and said it was crazy of them to tell me to drink so much as I still have a smaller bladder being young and in such good shape.

So she told me to just drink a water bottle before I came.
