Tens Machine Hire?

I was wondering whether the cheap tens machines you get in places like Lloyds pharmacy are good enough for help during labour or whether it would be worth hiring a better one like an Elle tens machine? xx

Elle tens machines are going quite cheaply on ebay.

I saved searched elle tens machine so i see quite a few selling and they average out at £30=40

Cannot comment on the chemist tens though.

If you are buying, normally the cheaper ones aren't suitable. I think its because they have two transmitter pads and not the four you need in labour. Make sure it says it's suitable for labour on it. xx

I've seen labour tens machines in Lloyds however having read the pack it says they only work in VERY early labour, so having read that I wouldn't say they were going to be very useful.

I hired from a company called Natures gate. my hubby looked into it for me and the machines they offer are better in terms of power. Very good prices and helpful when i called them.

I bought one of these, it comes with 4 pads, has a boost button for contractions and seems to be quite a reasonable price:

However, I can't try it out until I'm in labour so can't really comment on how good it is from personal experience. I wanted to buy rather than hire in case I'm lucky enough to go on to have another child in the future.
