I'm Currently Feeling: | Hey!
I have the same thing but the hardness lasts only about a minute. It it kinda uncomfortable too. I read up on it and it is your uterus contracting. Sometimes will trigger it when baby moves. Our uterus contracts even when we are not pregnant but we do not feel it. It is the body's "getting ready" for labour but labour of course is more intense. 30 minutes does sound a little drawn out. I think you are not supposed to have more than 4 and hour. BUT do not take my word for it. This is my first pregnancy also. As for the water breaking question I have no idea. Full of suprises the little nippers! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | It sounds like it might be bh contractions. Be sure to mention them to your m/w or dr. next time you see them. When I was pg with my 1st, I thought I was having them, but they turned out to be real. It was strange b/c they didn't hurt, and I really didn't think anything of them til my dr. had me monitored and they said they were real contractions. I could actually see them on the monitor and couldn't really feel them. Don't worry, that is not what it sounds like you are experiencing, but mention it at your next visit. It is different w/every pg about the water breaking. With my first, that was how I knew I was in labor. My water broke while I was asleep. With my others, the dr. had to break the water during labor. Don't worry, you will really know when it is time to go to the hospital. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | From what I know Braxton Hicks can start anywhere from 16 weeks onward - I've been getting them for about 3 weeks now, your water can break before or during Active Labour, it's a rare thing to happen but sometimes the baby comes out with the water. It may come out as a little trickle, or a big gush. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | And ALWAYS remember to follow the 4-1-1 rule when deciding when to go to the hospital while in labour - go when your contractions are 4 minutes apart, lasting 1 minute, for 1 hour. |

| I feel pressure somtimes where the baby is laying - do you think it could be this?
I'm 20wks this week and a week or so ago I think I felt a BH - my tummy went all heavy and tight at the bottom. I think BHs are meant to go away if you drink some water - mine did. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Apparently braxton hicks can start as early as 6 weeks but you can't feel them. So I was told |
