I'm Currently Feeling: | Really down today Hi there
I hope everyone is well and their wee beanies.
I had the midwife this morning which was fab. I am measuring exactly as I should be, baby really active, BP good etc but I am sooooooo depressed about the amount of weight I have put on .
When I was with the midwife I stupidly asked her if I could weigh myself (she has stopped weighing me) and I almost had a cardiac arrest when I saw my weight gain! I have gone from about 10 stone to around 12stone 10pounds!!! I am just gutted. Is this normal? My boobs are huge, my bum and hips are expanding and I have HUGE bump. People keep telling me I am very big for 24 weeks.
The strange this is I am still getting into size 14 clothes (well, maternity size 14). Prior to my pregnancy I was a size 12.
I just feel so down. This is the first time in my entire pregnancy I have felt like this. Don't get me wrong, I love my bump and being pregnant but I am so worried about how I am going to shift this excess weight and I still have three months to go .
Has anyone else put on that much weight?
I heard beanies heartbeat today and that was lovely....cannot wait to hold my baby.
XXXX

I'm Currently Feeling: | I gained 10 pounds between weeks 20-24. My OB told me that it could be because the baby grows very rapidly at that stage. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Honey, I've gained 20 lbs. so far in my pregnancy. This is way more than I gained by this stage in my pregnancy with my other babies. It's not from eating poorly and it's not from eating much more than I normally did when I was not pregnant.
I know the weight gain can be depressing and truly, it did with me too with my other pregnancies. The saving grace is that it is baby and just remember that you are carrying around your precious little one and that weight can be taken off after.
Treat yourself to something that will help you feel better about yourself. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | omg, you've still got abit to go aswell. Well done though shows you're looking after yourself and the baby well. Just imagine if you hadnt put on any weight or lost some, how worried you would be. Don't worry about the weight until after the baby is born, just enjoy yourself! If you didn't feel "fat" before getting weighed then I doubt it's you who most of the weight has gone to. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Most women lose between 15-20 pounds immediately after baby's born, sometimes even as much as 30 pounds, and if you're breastfeeding that will help ALOT. Don't think you're overweight as long as you're eating what you should be and excercising regularily, and I don't mean anything hard but even simple things like walking. From weeks 15 - 20 I put on about 13 pounds, but after that I just kinda stopped gaining weight I guess? I'm basically 26 weeks and I have gained 21, 22ish pounds. (Mind you when I was 20 weeks I had gained 20 pounds) So maybe you'll just quit gaining weight? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I feel your pain. I got out my old maternity clothes today, and only about half fit. The others are too small. I am going to really have to hit the weight loss after this baby is born. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Very happy to hear you had a good appointment, it's always great to hear the heartbeat.
As for feeling bad about your weight, I know exactly how you feel. I feel like I've gained soo much weight, I've probably gained 18 lbs, I'm not sure of the number because I've stopped looking at the scale. I've even had people say, gee you're only 17 weeks, are you sure you're not having twins? It kinda sucks, because I know I'm just going to keep gaining for the next 5 months. I've had weight issues (and the corresponding self esteem issues that seem to go hand in hand with fluctuating weight) my whole life, so now that I've got a few extra pounds on, I've been feeling very down, fat and frumpy, not sexy or attractive at all. Hormones don't help of course. What does help a little is wearing clothes that fit, no matter what size they are, and maybe paint your fingernails or do your hair so you feel better about how you look. And just remember that you are growing a miracle inside you. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | DON'T WORRY ! I'm 23 weeks and already put on 22 lbs. i was size 8 before i was pregnant and now i fit into size 14 . I love my bump though. I also put 90% of my clothes in the box ( hopefully i can get back to size 8 next year ). Some people said i look big but some said quite small. But my baby 's healthy and active, so i don't mind.
The only person that i mind is my MIL because she just came for a visit and staying for a month. She kept saying i'm very fat now and i won't go back to same size again and my legs will be doubled the size soon.( and laughed ) She said i should put all my clothes on sale on ebay. it seems so funny for her but i hate it. say it once is enough. I said back to her ( nicely ) that i don't mind being big because my baby's active and healthy and i will be just fine. | | | | Status: Offline
