Really weird craving for the smell of sponges starting! - Page 2

i ate entire sponges when pregnant, it was lush LOL im fighting the urge this time. i couldnt get enough of them at all....i even got to the point where i was making them soapy and sucking the bubbles off.....and dipping them in icey water to suck out mmmm

Oooh! For UK girlies craving sponges - Wilkinsons has them for like 19p! WANT!!

I used to go in and sniff the sponges while they were still in the packets...In fact, while we were away this weekend, I was sniffing sponges in a Pharmacy to see if they smelt 'right'

I forgot about that... Seriously, craving sponges now.

im still having my sponge craving, im even enjoying the smell of really clean people, i just want to sniff them lol! that fresh, soapy washing powder smell! i loveee it, even the smell of clean fresh carpets ..... its crazy lol x

Hmmm....I wonder what could be the source of this, since so many ladies have had the same "craving?" My SIL told me some ladies get the craving to eat cigarette butts, and it just makes me wonder why?

I told my mum about this "There are ladies discussing having cravings for sponges! My cravings started early then!!"

She said "Very!...Like...before you even hit puberty! That's worrying!"

Anything weird I've been craving - like I smell something and I just want to sit and sniff it - I find is a comfort thing....I wouldn't be eating the things I've been sniffing so far, but sponges have a nice texture to chew on and a yummy smell, so I find it soothes me.

My mum however was craving the smell of creosote and brillo pads!!

I can't believe it! I am normal, thank you all for posting this craving, I have about 15 brand new sponges in wrappers still in bathroom cupboard, i was buying the superdrug massage sponge but it falls apart fast, the best sponge us the massage sponge from boots, I loved asking in the yellow intensive sanex body wash, but then they sold out and I stood in boots literally smelling every shower gel and bath creme on the Market and now I am addicted to dove pro age.... It's heaven! I have 2 baths a day and am now hoping for a pool birth!!!!! Lol.....

I will say make sure u keep your sponges fresh and clean cause they can harbour
bacteria,

I will never know why we love this craving, it's just so bizarre, but a lovely one!

Thank goodness, it's not just me! I got into sponge chewing when my wisdom teeth started coming through about 9 years ago. I too love Wilko's cheapos and my craving is getting stronger, I may have to give in. I was scared of the chemicals in cheaper spongers, but my MW said it wouldn't hurt.

Don't swallow though, I just use it like chewing gum!!!
